Circle of Church Clerks/Secretaries Circle of Church Clerks/Secretaries Mission Statement Our mission is to recognize and engage officers of the church and faith-based organizations who are a vital link in the successful operation and growth of their institutions to fully appreciate and understand the vital role of the Church Clerk and Secretary. Many times, these individuals go unrecognized for the important work they do in the life of the church and/or faith organization. The Circle of Church Clerks and Secretaries want to ensure these individuals are recognized and appreciated by highlighting the critical roles Church Clerks and Secretaries play in the life of their organizations and the important relationships they have with members of these institutions. Furthermore, The Circle of Clerks/Secretaries want to provide forums, events, activities, and engagements in which members of the church and faith organizations can learn, support, and engage with Church Clerks and Secretaries so that they may feel a part of the larger community whose lives they touch so often in behind-the-scenes ministry that include births, baptisms, baby dedications, memberships, sickness, sadness, help, and death. The Circle of Church Clerks/Secretaries is critical to the success of Compassionate, Service, Supportive Village Network International, Inc., because these women and men are the heartbeat of Church and Faith Institutions, and in many cases, the community at-large. They have information, knowledge, contacts, relationships, and compassion for the concerns and needs of many individuals, organizations, and communities in which they live and work. They will also be encouraged to be Information Coordinators with Compassionate, Service, and Supportive Village Network International, Inc. There are biblical references for the important roles of clerks, recorders, and secretaries in the bible. (Please see below and on the page entitled, Bible Verses.) This is a position where spiritual gifts of “Helps, Energy and Orderliness” (1 Cor. 12:28) come into play as Church Clerks and Secretaries serve the church and faith institutions with correspondence, events, lists, changes, transfers, births, deaths, numbers, people, history, and church procedures. They minister to the congregation by documenting and maintaining church records. They have a close relationship with the Pastor/Elder/CEO/Director and other church officers and members. They keep accurate minutes of church board and business meetings. The Church Secretary or Church Clerk records the activities of the church for the official record, telling who, what, when, where and, if possible, why. He or she then sees to it that these records are stored for future reference. |
